Our Story

In a world moving faster every day, energy was easy to find. Real balance was harder to come by. We were feeling it, and we knew others were too. So we turned to two of the world's most remarkable plant traditions. From Japan, we found ceremonial grade matcha: shade grown, stone milled, and revered for centuries for its depth of flavour and the calm of its preparation. From Australia, we found something more unexpected: native botanicals with thousands of years of culinary and cultural use, remarkable flavour profiles, and a provenance story that sets it apart.

We brought them together. And Aceae was born.

Matcha is not all the same. Most of what you have tried, in a cafe latte or from a supermarket shelf, was culinary grade: lower quality, more bitter, higher in leaf matter. Ceremonial grade matcha is different in every way.

Aceae uses only first harvest, shade-grown matcha from Japan. Shade-growing increases the chlorophyll and L-theanine content. Chlorophyll gives matcha its extraordinary colour, and L-theanine is the amino acid matcha is known for.

No fillers. No flavour enhancers. No compromise. Just the highest quality Japanese matcha we could find, and then we added Australia to it.
